Our History

Where it all began

2018 Celebrating 30 Years In Gears

Team Spec Comox Ave. opening day

It all began in a basement. The year was 1988 when Simon Brampton and Patti Fletcher dedicated the basement of their Comox home to create Simon's Cycles. From basement to garage addition to Church St. in downtown Comox to Church St. part 2 and then on to Simon's Cycles Part 5 our home on Comox Ave today, Many years, many bikes and many shop friends later we find ourselves celebrating our 30th year in business.  A lot has changed since those humble beginnings, but one thing will always remain the same and that is our pride in being part of the Comox Valley recreation and business scene. What better place to run a bike shop. With helpful and friendly super staff along with great customers, we like to think we've created a destination for local and visiting bike enthusiasts. Community is such an important part of our business, hence the reason why you'll see us out and about at so many local events such as the Snow to Surf, Comox Valley Tri-K, Simon's Cycles Y.A.N.A Ride and supporting organizations like UROC, Cumberland Forest Society and dozens of other events and programs that we proudly provide product and services for throughout the year.

So whether you are looking for your kid's first run bike, a 29er to roar on the trails or that perfect machine for an upcoming Gran Fondo, we hope you choose to visit us for our great selection of bicycle related product. Thanks for your support for nearly three decades and we hope to continue to see you for many years to come.
